Global Game Jam Organizational Volunteer Sign Up

Next quarter, the Davis Game Dev. & Arts club will be hosting our first Global Game Jam event! For those of us who don’t know,

[t]he Global Game Jam® (GGJ) is the world’s largest game jam event (game creation) taking place around the world at physical locations. Think of it as a hackathon focused on game development. It is the growth of an idea that in today’s heavily connected world, we could come together, be creative, share experiences and express ourselves in a multitude of ways using video games – it is very universal.

This is a huge opportunity for anyone interested in making games! In order for us to successfully pull off this Global Game Jam, we’ll need the help of our members. We’re looking for volunteers interested in anything from advertising and organizing to on-site registration and food services! To get a more in depth view of the responsibilities and commitments check out this document.

WHO: People interested in helping us pull off the biggest event hosted by the Davis Game Dev. & Arts club should head over to the group Facebook and check the post about volunteers!

WHEN: The Game Jam will take place Winter 2018 quarter from Friday, Jan 26, 5pm to Sunday, Jan 28, 5pm. IT may be next quarter, but we start planning now!

WHY: Volunteering for this even is an excellent opportunity for you to take on a leadership position! It doesn’t look too shabby on a resume either.
