Game Dev Club Officer Positions

A bunch of the Game Dev Club leadership is graduating this year, and we need YOU to fill their shoes. Specifically we’re looking for the 4 positions, which we’ve listed below. Link to the form here: https://forms.gle/xAJFRvagVwVUfk97A

NONE OF THESE POSITIONS REQUIRE EXPERIENCE PLAYING OR MAKING GAMES.

THE MOST IMPORTANT QUALITY IS WANTING TO BRING THE FUN OF GAME DEV TO PEOPLE.

President

Yeah so turns out the president does less than you think they do. The President is just in charge of all the outward-facing responsibilities, like 1) Renewing the club, 2) Talking to clubs/adults that want to collaborate with the club, 3) Responding to questions about the club. The President is basically the face of the club, and steers it in the direction they see fit.

Meeting Manager

Meeting Managers decide (but do not necessarily produce) the contents of each meeting. Meeting contents include workshops, speakers, or discussions. Ideally, other officers will be able to provide workshop content and the Meeting Manager is just the one who makes sure there’s something to do at each meeting.

Event Manager

If the Meeting Manager is in charge of the regular meetings, the Event Manager is in charge of irregular and special events. This is primarily organizing the quarterly jams (including our biggest event, the Global Game Jam). This also includes tabling at other events like the Involvement Fair or Cinema Digital Media banquet, or giving workshops at events like HackDavis or DCSC meetings.

Social Media Manager

This is the most obvious job. The Social Media Manager is in charge of making the Facebook event each week and also posting on our website. When special events are coming up, they should also market it on our own page and others (usually DCSC). They are also responsible for deleting irrelevant advertisement posts.

Wow thanks for reading all the way through. Once again, link to the form here: https://forms.gle/xAJFRvagVwVUfk97A
